These Paintings are inspired by images
Donna has seen during recent trips to Spain and Italy as well as everyday
images from her home in Fort Worth.
She is very interested in how people
move through the city and the relationship between moving people and static
architecture.
Donna strives to create a feeling
of place and mood through color and active brushstrokes.
The painting "La Cartuja" started
while she was walking throught the streets of Granada, Spain. Outside
of a monastery
a man was walking with his two horses
along the busy city streets, very peacefully. The light and color
and feel of the scene was perfect.
The image captured the feel of how
the old blends with the new in Spain.
Each painting has a narrative feel
to it. Some are beginnings of stories, some are fleeting moments,
some are timeless.
